Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the South Willow St. Burger King early this morning. At approx. 5:30 a.m. patrol officers were dispatched to the restaurant which is located at 622 So. Willow St. Upon arrival officers spoke to store clerks who provided details of the incident. It was reported that three female employees were in the restaurant during the robbery, and all were conducting pre-opening work for the store’s scheduled morning opening when the presence of two armed men was detected by the clerks. The reporting parties advised police one of the men was armed with a knife, and the other man was armed with a gun. During the course of the robbery the victims were ordered to lie down on a floor while the robbers took cash from the business. Limited descriptions of the robbers were provided to first responding officers. Descriptions provided to the police suggested the armed intruders were white males; however it was reported that both had some type of clothing article or bandana covering their faces.

No injuries were reported to have occurred to any of the victims. After initial contact was made with store employees, additional patrol units were dispatched to conduct an area search. Thereafter members of the Detective Division responded to conduct crime scene and evidence collection work.

Should anyone have information related to this incident they wish to report to the police they are urged to call the MPD Detective Division at 668-8711. Additionally,  information can be called in to Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040.
