ANSI-Accredited Food Protection Manager Certifications
To comply with the 2017 FDA Food Code requirements, food establishments must ensure proper managerial oversight of food safety practices. Note, there are exemptions based on the operation. Call to check requirements.
Requirements:
- A Person in Charge (PIC) must be present during all food preparation.
- The PIC must be a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM).
- Certification must be obtained through an ANSI-accredited program.
These programs ensure managers have demonstrated knowledge in:
- Foodborne illness prevention
- Time/temperature control
- Cross-contamination prevention
- Cleaning and sanitizing
- Employee health and hygiene
