Voter Registration and Elections

The Office of the City Clerk conducts and preserves the integrity of all local, state, and federal elections held in Manchester, New Hampshire.  The next scheduled election across all twelve city wards is the:

 State Primary, September 8, 2026.


Voter Registration 

If you are looking to confirm the status of your voter registration, consult the Secretary of State's Voter Information Lookup or contact the Office of the City Clerk. 

To register to vote or make any changes to your voter registration, you must complete a new Voter Registration Form at the Office of the City Clerk during regular business hours. For more information about registering to vote, see the How to Register page.

Absentee Ballots 

Absentee ballots may be requested within 6-months of the election. Absentee ballot request forms will be available on this page for the September 8, 2026 State Primary Election beginning March 8, 2026. 

Any voter requesting an absentee ballot must verify their identity by one of the following methods in order to receive a ballot:

  1. Include a copy of their qualifying photo ID with their absentee ballot application
  2. Personally present a qualifying photo ID to the City Clerk
  3. Include a notarized signature on the absentee ballot application

As a registered Manchester voter, you may mail, e-mail to elections@manchesternh.gov, fax to (603) 624-6481, or hand deliver your completed application with your verification of identity to the Office of the City Clerk, One City Hall Plaza, Manchester, NH  03101.
