Senior Services Commission

Senior Services Commission

The City of Manchester’s Senior Services Commission is made up of five city residents who are committed to supporting older adults in our community.  As set out in the City’s Charter, the Senior Services Commission must consist of at least three members who are aged 55 or older and one labor representative.  There cannot be a majority of Commissioners from the same City Ward, and the Commission cannot be comprised entirely of members of the same political party. Each Commissioner can serve up to two terms of three years each.

As an advisory body to the Health Department, the Board meets every other month and is updated on any new developments impacting the City’s older adults, MHD’s ongoing efforts to address those issues, and any new initiatives MHD is developing to face future or anticipated needs.  Commissioners provide their feedback, raise questions, and make recommendations from their respective perspectives and expertise.
