Board of Health

The City of Manchester’s Board of Health is made up of five city residents who are committed to the health of our community.  As set out in the City’s Charter, the Board of Health must be made up of at least one physician, one dentist, one nurse, and one labor representative.  Each member can serve up to two terms of three years each.

As an advisory body to the Health Department, the Board meets every other month and is updated on any new developments impacting the City’s health, MHD’s ongoing efforts to address those issues, and any new initiatives MHD is developing to face future or anticipated public health needs.  Board members provide their feedback, raise questions, and make recommendations from their respective perspectives and expertise.
