New Hampshire Institute for Local Public Health Practice
at the Manchester Health Department
The New Hampshire Institute for Local Public Health Practice is a collaborative partnership of The Manchester Health Department and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. Funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the NHILPHP’s mission is to build a competent workforce by providing core coursework grounded in the application of principles and foundations of public health practice. Our courses are taught by outstanding public health professionals currently working in their areas of expertise.
Since 2002, the NHILPHP has trained over 475 individuals, with 126 completing the entire series of classes.
The following courses are offered annually at the Manchester Health Department.

- Principles of Epidemiology
- Applied Communicable Disease Investigation, Control and Microbiology
- Principles of Environmental Health
- Local Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response
