Welcome to the Department of Public Works web site. With over 400 miles of streets, 344 miles of sanitary sewer, and 142 miles of drainage pipe, maintaining the City's infrastructure is a complex task achieved through the efforts of a talented, dedicated staff committed to serving the needs of the City of Manchester.
The Department is also responsible for the collection of over 46,000 Tons of refuse on an annual basis.
The Department of Public Works strives to provide superior, yet competitively priced general services basic to the quality of life and safety of the residents of the City of Manchester.
