Parking is available in Downtown Manchester, whether you are visiting for a few hours, coming for an event or seeking monthly parking.  Please click on the link below for a detailed map of parking options in our city.

Downtown Manchester Parking Map

The Parking Division manages, enforces and maintains all city-owned parking spaces in the downtown area, both on and off street.  Additional information on metered parking, parking violations and permit parking is listed below. 

  On-Street Metered Parking

The City of Manchester has 3,500 metered parking spaces in the downtown area.  Most of the meters are Pay & Display kiosks.  The center of downtown (Elm St.) has a 2 hour parking limit and after 5pm you can park for 3 hours and the cost is $.75 per hour Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm.  If you'll be in town for longer than a couple of hours, consider parking off-street or at a 10 hour meter.

• There is an event parking charge of $1.00 for events, 7 days per week, for Verizon Wireless Arena and the Fisher Cats Stadium in selected locations.  Map: Event Parking Zones
• There is no limit on any meter in the city after 5pm.  So if you're staying longer than 2 hours, just pay the meter until 8pm and you won't have to worry about moving your car in the middle of your evening.
• Many of our parking meters are free after 5:30pm.  Map:  Free Parking After 5:30PM
• There is a charge for parking on Saturday on Elm Street between Bridge and Granite Streets.  All other meters are free unless posted for an event.
• Parking at all meters is free on Sunday unless posted for an event.

 Parking Violations

The Parking Division is also responsible for parking enforcement.  Parking violations are written by both Parking Control Officers and Manchester Police Officers  The Ordinance Violations Bureau collects payments for parking violations and other ordinance violations.  Below is some general information.

• You may Pay Parking Tickets Online.
• You may Request a Citation Review Online.
• Parking tickets must be paid within 30 days.  After 30 days, a late fee is added to the amount due.
• Parking tickets unpaid after 60 days will have a second late fee added.
• Parking tickets unpaid after 90 days will be sent to a collections agency.
• Any vehicle with 3 or more outstanding parking violations totaling $100 or more is subject to booting and/or towing.

   Monthly Permit Parking

There are 3,500 off-street parking spaces controlled by the City of Manchester and many more that are privately owned and managed.  If you are looking for permit parking, there are many options available:

• City-owned surface lots are available for permit parking at rates of $45 monthly and $50 monthly.
• City-owned garage parking is available for $75 monthly.
• On-Street parking permits are available for 10 hour meters in the downtown area at $45 monthly.
• Millyard parking permits are available for $45 monthly in various locations.
• Privately owned parking is available at varying rates throughout the city.
