Article format for City Newsletter submission
“City Chatter” is the New City Employee Newsletter created for all City of Manchester Departments and their personnel. Our goal is to have a newsletter that is informative, entertaining and pleasant to read. This newsletter is available on the City View Website for all to see.
I would ask each Department Head to select one person from their department to be responsible for the submission of their department’s article.
Listed below are the criteria for articles:
· Each department will have 1 page available for their articles. This is not etched in stone so if there is a need to submit a larger article please send it and I will do my best to accommodate.
· Please submit the article in Microsoft Word.doc format, Arial Font, size 10.
You can also just send all the information through a straight email with no attachment and I will format it from there. (I will be putting the newsletter together from my own personal computer at home and cannot always access other types of City Docs. from that location.)
· Smaller articles, less than a page will be accepted.
Article content may include:
1. New developments in the department.
Example:
Welcome to new personnel, a marriage, a child/grandchild being born, retirement, birthday, date of hire anniversary, pictures from the department, new programs offered for employees or special events in the department etc.
2. Any news which that department finds interesting or noteworthy.
3. There will be free advertising throughout the newsletter for city employees who wish to advertise free items, wanted items or for sale items. Those may also be submitted by the designated department personnel with their articles.
(Please feel free to call Deb Young if there are any other questions. 624-6550 ext 321)
5. Submission Deadline is listed at the top of this page. If you are running behind schedule and feel that you may not make the deadline please contact me so that I may leave room for your article.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this newsletter! Without you this
would not be possible! Keep up the great work!
