Road work on Spring Garden Street

GMI Asphalt LLC, the contractor for the Department of Public Works (DPW), will begin road work on Spring Garden Street, between South Beech Street and South Willow Street, starting on Tuesday, May 20, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The project includes adjustments to manholes and catch basins, as well as pavement milling and paving. The reconstruction is expected to take approximately +/- 2 weeks, depending on weather conditions.

During this period, road will be closed , and parking will be prohibited during construction hours. Travelers are encouraged to use South Beech Street  as an alternate route. Drivers should follow posted detour signs and allow extra time for potential delays.

Please plan your activities accordingly and avoid the construction zone if possible. While we aim to minimize disruptions, be prepared for possible delays and limited access to properties in the area.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve the community's infrastructure.

Road Work on Rockland Ave. and Varney St.

GMI Asphalt LLC, the contractor for the Department of Public Works (DPW), will begin roadwork on Monday, April 28, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The work will take place on the following streets:

  • Rockland Avenue from College Avenue to Varney Street
  • Sylvester Street from Ingalls Street to Varney Street
  • Worthley Road from Alpine Street to Rockland Avenue
  • Varney Street from Mast Road to Rockland Avenue

The project includes adjustments to manholes and catch basins, as well as pavement milling and paving. The reconstruction is expected to take approximately +/- 8 weeks, depending on weather conditions.

During this time, these streets will have limited access, and no parking will be allowed within the work zone. Travelers are encouraged to use Mast Road as an alternate route and to follow posted detour signs. Drivers should anticipate potential delays and plan accordingly.

The reconstruction is expected to take approximately +/- 3 weeks, depending on weather conditions.

During this time, Somerville Street will have limited access, and no parking will be allowed within the work zone. Travelers are encouraged to use Hayward Street as an alternate route and to follow posted detour signs. Drivers should anticipate potential delays and plan accordingly.
