Animal Control

The Animal Control Officers are civilian employees specially trained to handle animal complaints. These complaints can range from barking and stray dogs to capturing and relocating wild animals that stray into the city. They also serve civil paperwork regarding animal complaints and educate the public regarding animal issues.

Duties and responsibilities of the ACO's include investigating animal complaints, enforcing City Ordinances and State Laws, picking up and impounding stray animals, educating the public, visiting elementary schools, patrolling the Community, and providing assistance to police officers in animal related matters.

The Animal Control Officers utilize the Manchester Animal Shelter located at 490 Dunbarton Rd, Manchester.
