Common Borrowing

Your Manchester City Library card allows you to borrow materials from as well as from Manchester.

Get a Library Card.

Library cards are available to anyone living, working full-time, attending school, or owning property in Manchester. Visit either the Main Library or the West Library with your proof of eligibility to receive a card.

14 Days Books, Magazines, CDs, Cassettes, Books-on-tape, CD-ROMs and CDs

Lost or Damaged Items
Minor damage to library materials will be charged at $2.00 per print item (books, magazines, etc.) and $5.00 per non-print item (CDs, DVDs, videos, etc.). read more...

Lost or Stolen Library Card
For your protection, if your library card is lost or stolen, please report it immediately. You are responsible for all items checked out on your card. read more...

Overdue Fines
$0.25/day for Books, Magazines, CDs, Cassettes, Books-on-tape, CDs, and Framed Prints.
$1.00/day for CD-ROMs, Videos, DVDs, and Video Games.

Maximum Fines
$5.00 per item/per circulation for Books, Magazines, CDs, Cassettes, Books-on-tape, and CDs.
$10.00 per item for CD-ROMs, Videos, DVDs, Video Games, and Framed Prints.

Renewals

All materials may be renewed three times.

Returning items

You may return your items inside the library at any of the circulation desk or in our dropboxes.
