In June 2010, the City of Manchester began a mandatory single stream recycling program for properties currently receiving seven day solid waste pick up within the Downtown District.

Recyclable materials are picked up three days a week - Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Recyclables must be placed in a blue cart (available at the Drop Off Facility) at a cost of $60 each or in a green cart with a recycling sticker attached. Stickers are available at the Highway Department, 228 Maple Street, free of charge.

Solid waste is picked up four days a week - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

No solid color bags are allowed to be used for solid waste. If you use trash bags in your carts, they must be no bigger than 33 gallons and must be see through.
