WELCOME TO THE PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (PSG) PAGE

Parent Support Group Meeting Minut Our monthly meetings are normally held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30PM. All parents who have a child at Southside are invited to attend. Our hope is to get parents involved in their child’s school. The best way to stay informed in the middle school environment and become an active member of the Southside community is to attend our monthly meetings. Our group is responsible for supplying numerous items to the school that they otherwise would be without - a direct reflection on the educational experience of your child. We’ve purchased items to beautify the building (granite bench, school sign, portrait, rug, table cover, banners in gym), enhance the school (sound system and projector screen for gym), educational materials for classrooms (new books, class readers, whiteboards, projectors, gym equipment), Teacher Appreciation Week festivities, promotion events for graduating 8th graders (T-shirts, BBQ, dance), even providing warm clothing for Southside children in need during the winter months. We could not do this without the support of the whole Southside ‘community’. We meet to discuss ways to improve the experience; ways to make the school not only a more effective learning establishment but also a place where the child will have fun and memorable experiences (dances, talent show, etc...)

We have several ongoing ways for families and friends to support our school. If you could take the simple steps to participate the programs below, your children and their school could benefit IMMENSELY! Please spread the word! 

Box Tops 4 Education

- A fabulous program! You all know what they are....the little squares that you cut out from hundreds of participating products! Please continue to collect those and deposit them into the bin in the main office. Each one means cash for our school - our kids!
But did you know about “The Marketplace”? It doesn’t get much easier than this people! Sign up at  become a member. Then, whenever you are going to shop online, log on to that same website, place your cursor over “EARN” and select “Shop Marketplace” from the drop down menu. Then just select the store and shop away! There are over 100 merchants to choose from, including: Walmart, Target, Kohls, Sears, JC Penney, Old Navy, Best Buy, Staples, Sams Club, Petsmart, Home Depot, HSN, iTunes, magazines.com, Overstock.com, Dell, Expedia.....even Southwest Airlines!! Every time you shop there, you can earn eBox Tops for Southside! So please - register - and tell everyone you know to do the same!! It can make a HUGE difference at the school.

-Go to   www.GrowingLocalLearning.com   and set up your profile. Select Shaws as your store and Southside as your school. Purchase select GLL/Box Tops products when you shop at Shaws and our school will receive cash in return.  

Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards Program

- Simply register your Stop & Shop card at the beginning of each school year either online at 1-877-275-2758, using our school ID # 04771. It’s that simple! Every time you shop using your card, points are added up and the school receives a check at the end of the program. - Purchase four participating products in one shopping trip from September 4, 2011 - December 3, 2011 and deposit the “School Dollars” received at check-out into the Southside Collection Tower at the store. The school will receive a check at the end of the program.

 - Register your Target REDcard online at   www.target.com/tcoe

or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. Every time you use your REDcard to shop, Target will donate a percentage of eligible purchases to our school. So easy!
