Mission Statement

McLaughlin Middle School is a school that understands the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of pre and early adolescents, cares for them and prepares them for academic success. These future citizens are the life blood, hope and future of this city, the nation, and the world. We recognize that it is our responsiblity to provide the future generations with an education that will meet their needs in a constantly changing world. We also affirm that the process of education is a partnership between students, education, parents, and the community and is based on mutual respect and cooperation.

Education is the development of the whole person which includes intellectual, social, physical and emotional components. The school recognizes the individual abilities, differences, and interest of students and attempts to provide ways for them to understand themselves; to develop self-discipline, self-confidence, and a good self image; to develop their entire person to the epitome of their abilities, ever striving to achieve high standards and worthy goals.
