Messages from CDR and MGySgt
A HUGE thank you to all of the parents/guardians/friends who attended the NJROTC Annual Inspection. CDR Hankins was very pleased with the turn out, and left impressed with how the unit is running and with the cadets' accomplishments. He told the instructors he believes the unit will, again, be in the runnng for Distinguished Unit. As always, upcoming events are listed below. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the NJROTC office at 603/624-6398.

The instructors would like to thank all of the parents and guardians who continue to assist and support the unit's activities!
Annual Unit Inspection
February 15, 2012
This event went very well, and the pictures in the Union Leader looked great. Overall, a great day for the new cadets and the unit (although we did have a couple of cadets miss this event without prior permission), and the instructors appreciate your continued support as we "grow" our future leaders.
Cadets Uniforms/Appearance - Overall, the cadets looked sharp, but there were many minor uniform mistakes that should have been corrected prior to the inspection. Please remember that all cadets receive a uniform grade as part of their quarter grade, and the inspection counted as a test grade.

Senior Trip to Washington, DC
March 22 - 25
Packages were handed out to Seniors with the particulars. This is a wonderful experience for our Seniors, and if you have any questions please feel free to call the NJROTC office.
_______
Pie Fundraiser
The unit will be selling pies once again for Easter! We ask that each cadet try to sell at least two pies. Sales will close on March 21, and pies will be delivered to the school on April 04. Any questions, please call the NJROTC office.
_______

Looks like the Military Ball will be held on April 15 (yes, it's a Sunday) at the Black Brimmer on Elm Street. Thank you to Mrs. Freeman for offering up this free venue. More information on the ball will follow.

Booster Club Information
(From Mr. Neil Freeman)
With the great job overall by the cadets with academics (49.6% of the cadets enrolled have been on the Honor Roll, or above at least once this year), the Mayor has thrown out a "challenge". During the inspection, he challenged us to hit 70%, so CDR is going to inquire from the Mayor what he's willing to offer if the unit takes the challenge. More information to follow!
