Welcome to the Central High School Web Site. By using this site you will be able to get a better understanding of how Central High School serves the student population. Included is a variety of information, from biographical sketches of staff to the "Educational Planner" which details the curriculum for every department. Please view the principal's multimedia message at the top of this page!

Central High School is the oldest secondary school in the State of New Hampshire. Founded in 1846 as Manchester High School, Central has graduated over 50,000 students during the last 165 years. Central is located in the inner city of Manchester with a campus made up of four separate buildings.
Central High School serves a very diverse student population. During this year of 2011-2012, the student enrollment of 2,235 included students from over 55 different countries and speaking 60 languages and dialects. In addition to the regular education programs, Central is proud of its Special Education Programs and English Language Learners programs.

There is also a long tradition of excellence in athletics at Central. Central also has a tremendous variety of extracurricular activities that include an outstanding music program, The Little Green newspaper, The Key Club and Maskers drama club.

Successful students at Central tend to be those who are involved in activities beyond the classroom instruction. Please encourage your child to show their Central Pride by becoming involved.

I hope this site provides you with a look at Central High School. If you can not get the information you are looking for from this website, just call the school at 624-6363. Office hours are 7:30 to 3:30 daily.
