DESCRIPTION OF ELO
ELO Extended Learning Opportunity
Any student may apply to attain a semester elective credit (.5 credit) through the pursuit of an ELO. An ELO is an opportunity for a student to pursue an area of study of particular personal interest by working with a teacher qualified in that particular field and a mentor expert in that field in the community. To investigate the possibility of doing an ELO, a student should consult his guidance counselor and complete a referral form which will be sent to the ELO coordinator, or consult the ELO coordinator directly (office located in the guidance area). Students are advised that ELOs are designed to be both interesting and challenging to the student and require approximately the same amount of time and effort as any other elective. An ELO elective can replace an elective in the student's schedule. ELOs are available during each semester as well as during the summer.
