MANCHESTER SCHOOL DISTRICT CLOSING PROCEDURES
FOR SNOWSTORMS AND/OR OTHER EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
2011-2012
Per statutory requirement, the Superintendent of Schools and/or his designee is responsible for decisions relative to school closings and delayed openings.
The Manchester Superintendent or designee shall arrive at a carefully considered judgment through personal observation, national, state and local weather bureau forecasts and consultation with Highway and M.T.A. Authorities.
The Manchester School District will use only two alternatives relative to school closing procedures. Please note there are changes for this school year:
1. All schools are closed for the day and all after school activities, including athletic activities, will be canceled.
2. All schools will be delayed two hours and all bus schedules will be delayed two hours.
*In the event of a delayed opening, all A.M. preschool and kindergarten classes will be canceled. Afternoon kindergarten classes will be held.
The Manchester School of Technology classes will begin at 9:55 a.m. The first class, usually scheduled from 8:00-9:40 a.m., will be canceled.
*NOTICE TO BEECH, BAKERSVILLE, GOSSLER-PARK, HALLSVILLE, MCDONOUGH, NORTHWEST, PARKER-VARNEY, WESTON, AND WILSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS*
All-day kindergarten classes will be delayed for two hours.
