REGISTRATION
Students in Manchester are assigned to schools geographically. To register your child for enrollment you should go to your neighborhood school. If you are not sure which school to go to, you can look it up online (LINK TO GIS), ask a neighbor or call the school district office at 624-6300.
Administrative offices in the schools are closed during the summer, with the administrative staff returning to work on August 19. During the school year you can register at any time by going to the school during regular school hours.
WHAT TO BRING FOR REGISTRATION:
- 2 proofs of residence – Lease agreement, utility bills, or rent receipt.
- Child's birth certificate
- Immunization record, child must have all of the following:
- 4 doses DPT
- 1 MMR + 2nd measles vaccine
- 4 doses polio
- 3 doses of hepatitis B, Varicella
- Tetanus and diphtheria booster for middle and high school students

If you have lost or are not able to immediately obtain birth records, proof of residence, or Social Security documentation you can still register your child under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
HOWEVER, CHILDREN MUST BE IMMUNIZED TO BEGIN ATTENDING CLASSES. If your child’s immunizations are not up to date contact your physician or the Manchester Health Department, tel. (624-6466) which offers free immunization clinics.
Registration for Kindergartners and incoming 1st graders takes place in the spring for the following September. Registration days will be advertised in the media and on the school district website. Students must be 5 years old by SEPTEMBER 30 in order to register for Kindergarten. Your child will also need to have a complete physical exam, or an appointment to have one, before starting school. Any family with a student entering kindergarten who did not register on April 17th at the SEE Science Center should plan to go to the appropriate elementary school to register.
If you are new to the district and have a child with Special Needs or limited English proficiency, your child may be assigned to a magnet program in another school. However, you should still register at your neighborhood school.
Also, at the time of registration, you will be able to inform the school of any desired electives, if applicable, such as band or chorus.
