Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is part of the No Child Left Behind Act. This program provides free tutoring
scholarships for a limited number of students attending Title 1 Schools that are designated as In Need of Improvement (SINI). These tutoring scholarships can be used to recieve tutoring from any Provider on the NH State Department of Education's approved provider list, who has also agreed to deliver services to Manchester students.
SES is a parent choice program, meaning parents have the opportunity to play an active role in their students success. Parents of eligible students must first request services, parents must choose the provider for their child, and parents will be invited to collaborate with providers and school personel to determine what subjects and areas to focus on during sessions. Parents also have the right to remove their child from SES tutoring.
The information in these pages is designed to help parents make these important choices regarding SES. There are also pages of information for SES Providers who are interested in providing services to Manchester Students.
Please note that there are limited scholarships available, and services are granted on a first come basis. If you are interested in SES it is important to return the completed request form to your child's school as soon as possible. If you have multiple children a seperate request form must be completed for EVERY child.
