On Saturday November 21, 2009 at approximately 1529 hours units from the Manchester Police Department, Manchester Fire Department and Rockingham Ambulance responded to the intersection of Union and Merrimack Streets for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving serious injury.  The preliminary investigation reveals that a green Volvo 850, operated by Elpiniki Adamtzikis age 25 of Manchester, NH was traveling southerly on Union Street and attempted to turn eastbound on Merrimack Street when the Volvo collided with a white Honda Civic that was traveling northerly on Union Street operated by Sydney Parsons age 21 also of Manchester, NH.  Adamtzikis was transported to the CMC Hospital via Rockingham Ambulance and was treated for serious non-life threatening injuries.  Parsons was transported to the Elliot Hospital via Rockingham Ambulance and later airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA for serious injuries.  One other passenger was treated and released for minor injuries.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Traffic Division.  Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this collision.
