On June 26, 2009 at approximately 5:30pm Manchester Police Officer Aaron Brown observed a motorcycle in the area of Bridge Street and Pine Street with suspended license plates attached to the Motorcycle. When Officer Brown attempted to stop the bike for the violation, the driver sped up and refused to stop for the officer. Officer Brown used his blue lights and siren in an attempt to signal the driver to pull over. The motorcycle continued to travel west on Bridge Street at a high rate of speed. Once the Motorcycle was in the intersection of Bridge and Elm the driver accelerated quickly causing the passenger to be thrown from the bike. Amanda Rogers 27, of Walnut Street in Manchester received minor injuries and was taken to the Elliot Hospital for treatment.
The Driver of the Motorcycle refused to stop for his passenger and sped across the Bridge Street Bridge westerly at a very high rate of speed. Officer Brown stopped and attended to Ms. Rogers. Other officers, who responded to assist, observed the motorcycle travel through the intersection of Bridge and McGregor Street westerly. At Amory Street and Coolidge Ave. the motorcycle attempted to turn right onto Coolidge Ave and struck the median and crashed. The Driver of the motorcycle, Anthony Brown 11-6-77 was arrested and charged with Driving as an Habitual Offender, Disobeying a Police Officer, Conduct After an Accident, and two Counts of Reckless Conduct. Brown was taken to the CMC for his injuries he sustained in the crash and he was being treated for minor injuries.
