Pine Street Community Garden Clean Up

Did you know that Manchester hosts a thriving community garden?  Located on Pine Street, directly across from the main entrance to the historic Valley Cemetery, is a small 18-bed community garden, nestled in the southwest corner of Sheriden Emmett Park.  Here is where Izet Hamidovic leads 15 different families in proper vegetable cultivation, garden ettiquite, and the importance of community.  Each family commits to the donation of a portion of their bounty to the New Horizon's food pantry, as well as distributing healthy vegetables to their neighbors.

This weekend marks their annual clean-up day to kick off the planting season.  Please join us this Saturday, March 24 at 10:30am to help with this clean-up as a thank you for this group's committment to their community.
