CURBSIDE PICK UP:
The City of Manchester has contracted with Pinard Waste to provide curbside pick up of yard waste. Please click here to view the 2012 Residential Refuse Guide, which includes guidelines, dates and a map for yard waste collection.
YARD WASTE COLLECTION GUIDELINES:
- By State of New Hampshire and City regulations, there is a mandatory separation of organic yard waste materials from regular garbage or rubbish. They may not be placed in the same container for collection.
- Because Manchester's yard waste is recycled through composting, contaminated materials will be tagged and left at the curb.
- Examples of contaminants are cans and bottles, plastic mulch bags, trash (garbage, food waste, household refuse of any kind), lumber, metals of any kind, etc.
- Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, weeds, hedge trimmings, garden wastes, and twigs and brush no larger than 3 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length.
- Approved Containers:
- Maximum 33 gallon barrels, clearly marked with approved Official Yard Waste sticker, not to exceed 75 pounds fully loaded.
- Biodegradable paper yard waste bags available in local stores
- Absolutely No Plastic Bags
- Loose brush must be tied up into manageable bundles for collection. Maximum dimensions of bundles are 3' long by 2' wide.
- Yard waste must be curbside by 7:00 AM.
- Official City of Manchester Yard Waste stickers are available at the Highway Department at 228 Maple Street, 4th floor or at the Drop-Off Facility on Dunbarton Road.
