On Tuesday October 26th, at approx. 9:15pm, a Manchester Police cruiser was involved in an accident at the intersection of Maple St and Cilley Rd. Officer Derek Cataldo was operating the fully marked police cruiser, northerly on Maple St, responding to a reported armed robbery on Lake Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicates that he entered the Cilley Rd intersection, colliding with an eastbound vehicle driven by Makuac Gob 45 years of age of Clifford Ave. At this point in the investigation, it would appear that the officer was at fault, for having entered the intersection against a red light, despite having activated his emergency lights and siren. Both drivers were treated at the Elliot Hospital for minor injuries. The vehicles sustained significant damage.

It was at this time that he observed the vehicle, driven by Jeffrey Fellows 29 years of age of 177 Winter St, increase in speed. Officer Aquino caught up to the vehicle at the intersection of Queen City Ave and Second St, where it had crashed into the center median. Fellows fled the scene of the crash on foot, leaving his female passenger behind. A short time later, Fellows was taken into custody, after a canine track.
