Police Officer Injured in Struggle with Armed Suspect

Manchester Police officers responded to My Friends Bar and Grill at 507 Maple St. Thursday evening for a report of a patron carrying a large knife refusing to leave. The suspect was arrested after he ran from police, then struggled with officers who took him into custody.
Manchester Police officers were called to My Friends Bar and Grill at 507 Maple St. around 7:00 Thursday evening for a report of a patron carrying a large knife, refusing orders to leave the business. When officers arrived, they observed 35 year old Cyril Pocknett walking in the area, matching the description given by bar employees. Officers attempted to detain Pocknett but upon seeing the police, Pocknett took off running and was captured a short distance away. Pocknett fought with police, but was eventually pepper sprayed and taken into custody to face a number of crimes. One of the officers involved suffered a hand injury as a result of Pocknett's resistance. The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.
