Go Have Fun!
Manchester's geography, facilities and cultural resources allow for four seasons of recreational enjoyment.
Whether you prefer organized activities or doing things on your own, Manchester offers a wide array of options through Parks & Rec and its partner organizations.
Camps and Classes
Parks & Rec offers youth camps and classes during summer and other school vacations.
Fun In The Sun is a day camp from late July through mid-August for Manchester residents ages 6 - 12. Campers enjoy playground games, swim lessons, free swim, and the opportunity to try new games and sports.
Targeted classes and skills camps are also offered.
Upcoming camps and classes
Athletic leagues in Manchester are run by private organizations, but many of these are supported in various ways by Parks & Rec.
In the summer, Parks & Rec offers the Sam Carey Summer Basketball Skills and Drills program through the support of the Rock On Foundation.
When it's too cold to play outside, Parks & Rec offers Winter Basketball in the gym at Beech Street School.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, we are still assessing the viability of Winter Basketball and the Sam Carey program in 2020-21.
Doing Your Own Thing
In Manchester, it's easy to independently pursue recreation that suits your interests. Opportunities include biking, boating, downhill or cross-country skiing, ice skating, golfing or disc golfing, hiking, climbing, fishing, swimming, pickleball, tennis, horseback riding, and more.
