What do I need to get started? |
You must have one of the following items handy before continuing:
• The parking ticket(s) that you wish to pay
- OR -
• A letter from the Ordinance Violations Bureau showing one or more ticket citation numbers and the corresponding vehicle plate number,
- OR -
• (City residents only) Your vehicle registration renewal notice letter.
You will also need a valid email address and a credit card (see above).
If you do not have the information listed above, you will not be able to use this service. |
| What does the parking citation payment system allow me to do? |
Our online citation payment system allows you to locate, view, and pay parking tickets from the convenience of your home or office. You can view both paid and outstanding tickets, and select which tickets you wish to pay.
We have partnered with Official Payments Corporation® to accept online payments using
Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, and Discover® credit and debit cards. (Pleae note that electronic checks are not accepted for parking ticket payments.)
|
| Is there an additional fee for paying online? |
There is no additional fee to pay your tickets online. |
| My vehicle has been immobilized ("booted"). Can I pay online to get this removed? |
The short answer is, No. If you pay for a booted vehicle using this online service, it may take from 24 to 48 hours for your payment to clear, and until that happens the boot WILL NOT be taken off and the vehicle will not be released.
Therefore, you should NOT use this service to submit your payment online when your vehicle has been booted. Instead, please contact the Ordinance Violations Bureau (603-624-6546) as payment must be made by cash or bank/certified check in this case. |
| Can I make partial payments? |
No, you can decide which tickets to pay, but you must pay the full amount of those tickets. Partial payments on tickets are not accepted. |
| I entered only one ticket but more than one citation is displayed. Will I have to pay them all? |
If other citations exist on the same vehicle, or on a different vehicle for the same owner as the primary citation, they will also be displayed.
You may elect to pay any or all parking citations by clicking the box next to each citation number you want to pay.
However, please note that any unpaid citations will prevent your vehicle registration from being renewed, and may increase your vehicle's eligibility to be booted or towed. |
| How soon will my payment be posted for my tickets? |
Payments submitted online will usually be credited within 24 hours of submittal, excluding weekends and holidays.
NOTE: If your vehicle has three or more tickets and a balance of $100 or more, then your vehicle is on the "boot list". Should your vehicle become immobilized ("booted") before your payment is posted, you will still be responsible for the boot removal fee plus any other costs associated with the immobilization. As payment is not considered made until posted to the database, you may want to pay in person to avoid this possibility. |
| My car renewal notice shows a message that I have unpaid parking tickets. Can I pay these online? |
If the notice came from a City of Manchester office, then the answer is Yes. You can use the PIN number that appears on your notice, along with any plate on that notice for which tickets are indicated, to access and pay your parking tickets online. Simply use the option "I have my Registration Renewal Notice" and follow the prompts.
If your notice came from city or town other than Manchester, you cannot use this option. |
| What if I don't know my ticket citation number? |
For the protection of your personal information, users of this system must be authenticated either by information found on an actual ticket or on a letter or vehicle registration renewal notice.
If you don't have your ticket or such a letter, please call the Ordinance Violations Bureau at 603-624-6546. |
| I entered my ticket citation number, but it was not found. |
The first thing to check is to make sure that the information was entered properly and exactly as it appears on the ticket or letter, including any leading zeros or dashes that may be present.
It may require up to 24 hours for parking citations which are computer-generated to be available in the system. If you just received your ticket today and it was not found, please try again tomorrow.
Hand-written tickets may require from two to five days to be available for online payment. Therefore, for hand-written tickets, you may want to pay by mail or in person to avoid a late fee. |
| How secure is my payment and personal information? |
The City of Manchester has partnered with Official Payments Corporation to process your online payment. You will be making payments through their secured web site, which uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption. Only the confirmation number is provided to the City of Manchester; credit card and related information are not.
For more information, visit Official Payments at www.OfficialPayments.com. |
| How do I contest my parking citation? |
You may contest your parking citation by either requesting an administrative review, and/or you can elect to take the parking citation directly to Manchester District Court (this must be done within 90 days of receiving the ticket, after which court is not an option).
An administrative review will usually only require a few days, after which you will be notified as to the result.
Contesting a ticket in court will require your appearance in court at a date and time set by the court.
