Crisis Intervention & Referral
Youth and family meet with a counselor to talk about concerns and problems. Youth are often referred to suitable services in the community to further aid the child in resolving his or her difficulties.

Restitution
A contract is set up between OYS and the juvenile to repay debt incurred by criminal mischief (vandalism). Referrals come from Manchester Police Department and District Court.

Anti-Graffiti
OYS is a clearinghouse for reports of graffiti on public or private property. Sightings are taken at 624-6470.

Substance Abuse Evaluation
A licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) provides intake, assessment, and referral for city youth under 18 years of age. Program referrals are taken from parents, courts, schools, and law enforcement officers. Youth themselves may also request an evaluation. Appropriate treatment recommendations are made based upon the assessment.

Substance Abuse Information Line
665-6600
A seven day a week, 24 hour a day, local emergency line for youngsters with substance abuse questions, problems, or issues. Licensed substance abuse counselors are available to answer it.

Alcohol Court Referral Program
The Manchester District Court must make referrals. Clients receive a four-session self-assessment of the use and misuse of alcohol, with certification of attendance. A fee is charged.

CHINS
CHINS--Child in Need of Services Petitions can be submitted to the Manchester District Court. Youth Services provides information, intervention and possible referrals to a family regarding the CHINS process. A child's behavior may be monitored. A petition may be filed when community resources have been exhausted.

FireSafe Intervention
Fire Safety Educators prepare an individual course of study for every juvenile firesetter. Lessons are geared to the juvenile's age, maturity, and learning style.
Youth are referred by parents, courts, police and fire departments, schools nd other agencies.
